
Karen Ballentine
Karen returns to the South Carolina Education Lottery after serving from 2001 to 2004, most recently as Promotions and Special Events Manager. During that time she contributed to the successful launch of the Lottery in our state and saw revenues grow to more than $700 million.
After leaving the Lottery in 2004 to spend time with the family at home, Karen continues to stay active in several organizations throughout the area.
Karen currently serves as Fund Development Vice Chair and on the Membership Council for the Columbia Junior League; works part-time as a Pre-School Teaching Assistant at Gateway Baptist in Chapin and works with the Kindergarten Ministry at Riverland Hills Baptist in Irmo.
Prior to joining the Lottery, Karen served as President of the University of South Carolina Young Alumni Council, was ex-offico on the University of South Carolina Board of Governors and also served as a member of the University’s Richland/Lexington Alumni Advisory Council. Karen is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
Karen resides in Chapin with her husband Nathan and their children, Sarah, JC and Emma.
