COLUMBIA, SC (July 18, 2013) – A Greenville man is recovering from a case of goose bumps.

He caught them from a $200,000 winning lottery ticket at the Quick Trip on Rutherford St.

“I’m in a state of shock,” he told lottery officials. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the ticket.”

His mom drove him and the winning South Carolina Gold scratch-off to the Lottery’s Columbia claims office.

He handed the ticket over to lottery staff, and received a check for his winnings.

His goose bumps were cured.

“I feel like I’m in a dream,” he said, rubbing his arm.

As of this release, three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 South Carolina Gold game. The odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 600,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Trip #1140 in Greenville received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
