COLUMBIA, SC (July 30, 2013) – The Guy Harvey instant ticket from the South Carolina Education Lottery has already netted two $100,000 winners. Last week, retailers in Rock Hill and Blythewood each sold top prize winning tickets, leaving three remaining $100,000 prizes in the $5 Guy Harvey game.
The ticket, which features artwork by renowned marine wildlife artist Guy Harvey, went on sale mid-July in South Carolina and has been a popular choice among lottery players.
The colorful fish on the ticket caught the eye of a single dad in Rock Hill, who says he rarely plays the Lottery and didn’t know who Guy Harvey was when he bought the ticket.
“I almost passed out in the store,” he said describing the moment he won at the Little Giant #2 on S. Anderson Rd. in Rock Hill. “Everyone was hugging me.”
“I’m going to be debt free,” he said.
A West Virginia couple passing through South Carolina on their way home from Florida was surprised to see Guy Harvey tickets in the Palmetto State. In Florida Guy Harvey’s designs are everywhere, on the backs of t-shirts, license plates and lottery tickets from the Florida Lottery.
The vacationers bought several Guy Harvey tickets in Florida and from the Sharpe Shoppe #1 in Blythewood. One of their South Carolina tickets was a $100,000 winner.
“It was an excellent souvenir,” the husband said.
For selling the claimed tickets, Little Giant #2 and Sharpe Shoppe #1 each received a commission of $1,000.
Odds of winning $100,000 on Guy Harvey are 1 in 480,000.
Guy Harvey offers a second-chance opportunity to win a fishing trip with Guy Harvey in Grand Cayman Island, a vacation to The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort or $100,000.
Guy Harvey is generously donating proceeds received from the game to state conservation groups to fund education and marine conservation efforts here in South Carolina.
