Charleston Wife Surprises Husband with $200,000 Lottery Win

COLUMBIA, SC (March 31, 2017) – A Charleston wife had a surprise for her husband when he got home from work.

“I won the Lottery,” she screamed.

It was a sweet moment for the winner, who years ago told her doubting husband that one day she was going to win big. And that day was last Wednesday, when she won $200,000.

The winner told lottery officials she was in her living room watching the live lottery drawing on television when she saw all five of her Palmetto Cash 5 numbers selected (13, 28, 32, 36, and 38).

She started pacing back and forth with her winning ticket trying to decide if she should call her husband at work and tell him.

She waited and when he got home had a second surprise for him.

“We’re paying off the house,” she said.

She also Powered-Up to increase her prize with the 2X multiplier.

The odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884.

For selling the claimed ticket, Publix Super Market #449 in Mount Pleasant received a commission of $2,000.
