COLUMBIA, SC (September 29, 2017) – Clemson University student Brianna Mathis is happy to say goodbye to college debt after winning $125,000 on a South Carolina Education Lottery ticket.

The 20 year old said her pacemaker went off due to the shock of winning the top prize featured on the $5 instant ticket Fantastic 5s. Brianna purchased the ticket from Discount Corner located on East River Street in Anderson.

“After I got over the shock of winning, I gave the ticket to Fort Knox for safe keeping,” laughed Brianna while referring to her mother.

Along with paying off her tuition to Clemson University, Brianna hopes to help her mother purchase a house. Brianna is interested in pursuing a career as a lawyer after finishing university.

Now that the prize is paid, Discount Corner in Anderson receives a $1,250 commission.

One top prize of $125,000 remains in the $5 Fantastic 5s game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
