3/19/2018 9:28:46 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 19, 2018) – A Powerball® ticket bought while passing through South Carolina has won a North Carolina resident $2 million.

“This is unreal,” the winner told lottery officials. “I thought something was wrong with my eyes.”

He says he reached for his glasses and looked over the Powerball® ticket he purchased at the Circle K Store #2751 in Aiken for a second and a third time to be sure. The first five white numbers matched those drawn on Wednesday, March 14 (6, 12, 24, 41, 68 and PB: 9).

He called his wife, who surprised him by asking if he’d won the Lottery.

He surprised her back by answering “Yes.”

The couple has decided to invest the winning.

“We’re not going to tell the kids,” the millionaire said.

Spending the extra $1 for PowerPlay® increased the $1 million prize to $2 million.

The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 11,688,054.

For selling the claimed ticket, Circle K Store #2751 in Aiken received a commission of $10,000.
