5/17/2018 11:53:11 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (May 17, 2018) – A trip to the grocery store for lemonade had a sweet outcome for a Moncks Corner couple.

The wife ran inside the Piggly Wiggly on W. Main St. for lemonade and, at the last minute, a lottery ticket.

The next day she scratched the ticket and won $250,000.

“My husband has supported me in all of my dreams,” she told lottery officials. “Now I am going to use this money to support him in his dreams.”

She won playing the ($10) $250,000 Extra Play game and claimed the last top prize at odds of 1 in 700,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Piggly Wiggly #181 in Moncks Corner received a commission of $2,500.
