COLUMBIA, SC (June 19, 2018) A New Yorker left the South Carolina low country with a $250,000 souvenir.

The tourist was visiting a friend in Charleston where he bought the winning South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off at the Harris Teeter grocery store on Savannah Hwy.

Im so happy, he said after detouring to Columbia to cash in his winning ticket. Im going to travel more.

He won playing the ($10) $250,000 Bonus Cash game. Three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the game, at odds of 1 in 660,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Harris Teeter LLC #365 in Charleston received a commission of $2,500.
