$150,000 Powerball® Tickets Sold in Little River and Aiken

COLUMBIA, SC (October 17, 2018) – Mega Millions® is making headlines, but Powerball® deserves a nod. Tonight’s Powerball® jackpot drawing is for $345 million with a cash offering of $199 million.

On Saturday, two winning Powerball® tickets sold in South Carolina narrowly missed out on the jackpot prize. The winning tickets were sold at grocery stores in Little River and Aiken and are worth $150,000 each.

The tickets were purchased at the Lowes Foods #223 at 111 Pavilion Dr., Ste #10 in Little River and at the Publix Super Markets #506 at 250 Eastgate Dr. in Aiken.

The ticket holders stands to benefit from the purchase of PowerPlay®. Because these players paid an additional $1 for PowerPlay®, their $50,000 prize tripled to $150,000 when a “3” multiplier was selected for the drawing on Saturday, October 13 (11 - 14 - 32 - 43 - 65 PB: 15).

Check your tickets. More than 19,000 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $4 up to $150,000. Of these, more than 7,900 players purchased PowerPlay® to see their non-jackpot winnings, excluding the Match 5 prize, multiplied by three. The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129. The odds of a 3X multiplier being selected are 1 in 3.23, when the jackpot greater than $150 million. The odds of winning the Powerball® jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.

Net proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
