World Record $1.6 BILLION Mega Millions® Jackpot—Here’s How to Play

COLUMBIA, SC (October 22, 2018) – With a world record $1.6 BILLION Mega Millions® jackpot drawing on Tuesday night, many folks will be buying tickets for the first time.

Here’s how to play:

1. Ask for a Quick Pick. The machine randomly selects six numbers for you; or

2. Pick your numbers. Choose five numbers from 1 to 70 and one number from 1 to 25.

3. Pay $2 for a ticket.

4. Check your ticket. Visit a retailer or sceducationlottery.com after the drawing to see how you did.

5. Sign the back of your winning ticket.

To win the jackpot you have to match all six numbers drawn. But don’t throw away that ticket if you don’t, there are prizes for matching just a few numbers on your ticket. You could win $1 million, $10,000, $500, $200, $10, $4 or you might just win your $2 back.

Tickets are available for $2 at just about every convenience store and grocery store in South Carolina and MUST be purchased by 10 p.m. for Tuesday’s 11 p.m. drawing.

Pay $3 for a ticket if you wish to purchase the multiplier to multiply non-jackpot winnings between two to five times.

Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 303 million.
