Powerball® Beginner Plays for $750 Million Jackpot, Wins $50,000

COLUMBIA, SC (March 29, 2019) – In only his third time playing Powerball®, a Boiling Springs man came oh, so close to winning the jackpot.

“Man, I missed it by one number,” he said.

He’ll have to settle for $50,000. The jackpot that night was $750 million.

He checked his ticket, a quick pick, at work and saw where he matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball® number drawn on Wednesday, March 27 (16, 20, 37, 44, 62 and PB 12) to win the $50,000.

Had he spent the extra $1 for PowerPlay®, his prize would have multiplied three times to $150,000.

“I didn’t know about the multiplier,” the beginner confessed. “Next time I’ll get it.”

Odds of winning $50,000 playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.

Piedmont BP in Spartanburg received a commission of $500 for selling the claimed ticket.
