COLUMBIA, SC (April 12, 2019) – A Greenwood woman is planning to start her own business after winning $50,000 playing Powerball®.

But first she’s taking a nap.

“I haven’t been able to sleep,” she said after discovering she won.

She says she wasn’t 100 percent convinced it was real until the lottery office scanned her ticket this week and she heard the words “you’re a winner” sing out from the lottery terminal.

Her ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball® number drawn on Saturday, April 6 (15, 33, 43, 59 and 60 Powerball®: 8) to win the $50,000.

“I was one number off of winning the jackpot,” she said. “I would have fainted if that had happened.”

Odds of winning $50,000 playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.

Sai Food Store in Greenwood received a commission of $500 for selling the claimed ticket.
