“Happy Birthday” to the Lottery’s Newest Millionaire
5/1/2019 11:49:05 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (May 1, 2019) – A Hollywood, SC, lottery player is celebrating his birthday $1 million richer.

The birthday boy won the prize on a Carolina Millions scratch-off ticket he purchased at the Road Runner convenience store on Hwy. 165 in Hollywood.

“It’s my present,” he said grinning, when he cashed in the winning ticket at the Lottery’s Columbia Claims Center this week.

The Hollywood winner overcame odds of 1 in 1.8 million to win the second top prize in the $10 Carolina Millions game. One $1 million top prize remains in the game.

And Road Runner is celebrating too. The retailer received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Players can enter their non-winning Carolina Millions tickets into a second-chance drawing for a chance to win an additional $1 million prize. For complete details on the Carolina Millions Second-Chance Drawing, please visit sceducationlottery.com.
To date, the South Carolina Education Lottery has created 184 millionaires.
