COLUMBIA, SC (May 5, 2021) – An Upstate lottery winner is using his $30,000 prize to fix what’s broken.
“I can do a lot of things now,” the Gaffney winner said, excited about having work done to his house and car.
He says he scratched the Wild Cherry Doubler winning ticket standing in the parking lot of the AAVS LLC on W. Fredrick St. in Gaffney and couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“This can’t be real,” he said. “This just can’t be real.”
So he ran back inside the store and showed his ticket to the store clerk, who confirmed it was a $30,000 winner.
“I’m not telling anybody else,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 432,000 to leave three top prizes of $30,000 in the ($2) Wild Cherry Doubler game.
AAVS LLC in Gaffney received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
