COLUMBIA, SC (September 16, 2020) – On the way out to eat, a Lancaster couple bought a lottery ticket. At the restaurant, they ordered and scratched the ticket to win $125,000.
“I jumped up from the table,” the wife said.
The couple says they couldn’t eat after that, so they canceled their order and left the restaurant.
“My hand was itching that day,” the wife told South Carolina Education Lottery officials, after cashing in the winning ticket. “My grandmother says that means you are going to come into some money.”
The couple, who did not wish to be identified, says the events of that day are unexplainable.
“It happened at the right time,” the wife said. “We are grateful.”
Scotchman #3892 in Lancaster received a commission of $1,250 for selling the claimed ticket.
Three top prizes of $125,000 remain in the ($5) Extra Play game at odds of 1 in 750,000.
