COLUMBIA, SC (March 7, 2025) – A Rock Hill lottery player went to bed thinking he won $100, but the next morning discovered he actually won $75,000.
If he had known the truth, he says, “I’d had the ticket under my pillow.”
Instead he left it out in his car.
He bought the winning $3, Bingo themed scratch-off at the Lee’s Convenience Store Plus on Ebenezer Rd. in Rock Hill. He says it was getting late when he scratched the ticket in his car sitting in the driveway. In the dim light it looked like a $100 win.
“I threw the ticket on the car’s seat and went to bed,” he said. “I figured it was a good start for tomorrow.”
The next morning he dropped back by the store to cash in his ticket. The clerk told him he won the game's top prize.
“I still went on to work after finding out,” he said. “It’s not enough to quit.”
But it is enough to buy him a new car.
The odds of winning $75,000 playing Red Hot Bingo are 1 in 660,000. This game is no longer available for sale.
Lee’s Convenience Store Plus LLC in Rock Hill received a commission of $750 for selling the claimed ticket.
