Tears and Nausea for $100,000 Lottery Winner

COLUMBIA, SC (April 19, 2016) – Resa Downey’s reaction to winning the Lottery sounds dreadful.

The Moore resident feels nervous, nauseous and tears up just thinking about winning $100,000 this weekend.

“I just hope I can quit crying,” she said to lottery officials while awaiting her check.

Her husband couldn’t be happier.

On Friday, Downey picked out a Double Jackpot ticket at the Li’l Cricket #3853 in Campobello. She says she scratched the ticket and sat stunned in her car in the store’s parking lot for what felt like 30 minutes. She drove home and handed the ticket to her husband for inspection.

“How much did I win?” she asked.

“Are you kidding?” he responded after examining the ticket.

So Downey should be smiling soon. The couple will be debt free and plans to celebrate with a cruise.

Four top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Double Jackpot game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Li’l Cricket #3853 in Campobello received a commission of $1,000.
