COLUMBIA, SC (August 1, 2024) – A few days after losing her job, a Lowcountry woman’s luck changed.
She bought a single lottery ticket and won $300,000.
“I’m still in shock and extremely grateful,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I’ve never won anything before.”
Her lucky break happened at the store locals call The Old Pantry at 1190 Ribaut Rd. in Beaufort. There she took a chance on a $10 lottery scratch-off that has given her a fresh start and the ability to buy a new house.
“It’s crazy how things worked out,” she said.
Three more top prizes of $300,000 remain in $300,000 Gold Rush game at odds of 1 in 700,000.
