COLUMBIA, SC (February 9, 2021) – With the $2 in change he got back from filling up his car, an Upstate man bought a lottery ticket for his wife.

And she had the lucky touch.

“You need to look at this,” she said, showing her husband the ticket.

He looked and couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His wife scratched off a $30,000 win on the Green Backs ticket he picked out for her at the Bountyland Quick Stop #16 on W. Cherry Rd. in Seneca.

“I never win anything,” the husband confessed to South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

He reminded his wife of an agreement they had.

“If either of us win, we split the winnings,” he said.

Two top prizes of $30,000 remain in the Green Backs instant ticket game at odds of 1 in 432,000.

Bountyland Quick Stop #16 in Seneca received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
