Richburg Man Brings Home Dinner and a Winner

5/6/2020 11:49:18 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (May 6, 2020) – A Richburg man came home with take out and a winning lottery ticket.

He was shaking. His face was white. And he could hardly talk except to tell his wife they’d won $250,000.

“I grabbed his face with both my hands and made him look me the eye,” the wife said. “I asked, ‘Are you messing with me?’”

She had doubts recalling her husband’s fondness for pranks and the time he gave her a fake lottery ticket.

“No, I promise,” he said.

The couple rarely plays the Lottery, but were given a ticket as a Christmas gift and won $10. They bought another ticket with the winnings and kept doing so until the husband brought home the $250,000 winner with dinner.

“This is a life changer,” said the wife. “Especially in these times.”

The Richburg winner overcame odds of 1 in 675,000 to win the first top prize of $250,000 in the ($10) Money to the Max game. Seven top prizes remain in the game.

S M Food Mart in Richburg received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
