Bishopville Lottery Winner Hosting a Family Gathering

COLUMBIA, SC (October 11, 2019) – A Bishopville woman is getting her family together for a big announcement.

She won $300,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery this week and is going to surprise them with the news. The winner told lottery officials she’s trying not to get too excited and tip them off.

“I’m telling my mom first,” she said. “Then I’ll tell the rest of my family.”

The winner, who asked not to be identified, quick picked her Palmetto Cash 5 numbers at the Corner Stop #112 on the Lesslie Hwy.in Rock Hill. All five numbers matched those drawn on Saturday, October 5 (1, 5, 22, 30, and 36).

Because she Powered-Up for an additional $1, her $100,000 prize increased to $300,000 when a 3x multiplier was drawn.

The odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,606,214.

For selling the claimed ticket, Palmetto Express of Lee County LLC in Bishopville received a commission of $3,000.
