COLUMBIA, SC (June 19, 2019) – A Boiling Springs lottery player is celebrating his birthday $1 million richer.
Dennis Ressler won the prize on a Carolina Millions scratch-off ticket he purchased at the Breakers Inman convenience store on the Asheville Hwy.
“This is life changing,” he said grinning, when he cashed in the winning ticket at the Lottery’s Columbia Claims Center yesterday.
Ressler says he’s planning to retire in a few years, and this win seals it for him.
“Unbelievable,” he said. “I’m going to win Powerball® next.”
Ressler won the last top prize in the $10 Carolina Millions game at odds of 1 in 1.8 million.
And Breakers Inman is celebrating too. The retailer received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Players can enter non-winning Carolina Millions tickets into a second-chance drawing for a chance to win an additional $1 million prize. For details, visit sceducationlottery.com.
To date, the South Carolina Education Lottery has created 186 millionaires.
