COLUMBIA, SC (January 31, 2025) – A Pee Dee woman is proof you don’t have to be a Clemson fan to win big on the school’s scratch-off ticket.
“No, I’m not a Clemson fan,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I’m not a fan of football either.”
None of that mattered when she picked out a $5 Clemson Jackpot ticket at a convenience store in Darlington and scored a $200,000 win.
“It was a joyful moment,” she said. And she plans to celebrate by helping others.
The odds of winning $200,000 in the Clemson Jackpot game are 1 in 520,000. One more top prize remains in the game.
For selling the claimed ticket, Situ LLC on S. Main St. in Darlington received a commission of $2,000.
