That’s $868 million in cash to whoever can stop this jackpot run that began in early November.
On Saturday a record number of South Carolina Education Lottery players, over 269,000, won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000.
Seven players in our state came close, but fell one number short of winning it all.
Three of these players took home $50,000 and the other four won $150,000 with PowerPlay® when the number “3” was selected. Failing to match just one other white ball number cost each of them a $900 million jackpot.
Today, three of the $150,000 winners cashed in.
A Reidville couple is celebrating nine years of marriage yesterday along with a $150,000 win. The husband purchased their Powerball® ticket at the Scotchman 3823 in Woodruff. They haven’t told their children, and don’t plan to. A new house is in their future.
A Boiling Springs husband couldn’t sleep after Saturday’s Powerball® drawing. After 20 years of buying tickets, one he bought at the Murphy USA #7130 in Boiling Springs won him $150,000. He says he’s already got a ticket for Wednesday night.
This morning in Anderson, a husband left work early to drive his wife to collect her $150,000 win. A clerk scanned the ticket she bought at Zekes Country Store in Pendleton and told her she won. Still in shock, she hasn’t made any plans for her prize money.
One more ticket worth $150,000 sold at 7-Eleven #36844 on Wade Hampton Blvd. in Greenville remains unclaimed.
The $50,000 winning tickets were sold at Richards Wine & Spirits LLC on Broad River Rd. in Irmo, QuikTrip on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville, and Blue Water #4 on Longpoint Rd. in Mount Pleasant.
Once claimed these retailers will receive a 1 percent commission.
Saturday’s winning white ball numbers are 16, 19, 32, 34 and 57. The red Powerball® is 13.
Odds of winning $50,000 are 1 in 913,129. Odds of a X3 multiplier are 1 in 3.23.
