COLUMBIA, SC (October 3, 2013) – A New Jersey father in South Carolina for his son’s Marine Corps graduation tomorrow at Parris Island has won a $200,000 lottery prize.

The father of three says “a proud moment was made prouder” by his SC Education Lottery win.

The winning Cash Bash ticket was bought for $10 at the Amoco Food Shop on Boundary St. in Beaufort following the dad’s 12 hour drive down from New Jersey.

“I was already a winner with my family,” he told lottery officials in Columbia yesterday.

His son’s in for a big surprise tomorrow. His graduation gift is now a new car.

Three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Cash Bash game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 600,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Amoco Food Shop in Beaufort received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3.1 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
