COLUMBIA, SC (August 1, 2012) – An Orangeburg County paramedic has won $20,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.
He beat the 1 in 720,000 odds on a Silver 7’s scratch-off purchased from the Corner Pantry #115 on John C. Calhoun Dr. in Orangeburg to win the cash.
“I could use $20,000,” he said.
So could his fellow paramedics. That’s why he is sharing the prize with two of his coworkers.
As of this release, four top prizes of $20,000 remains in the $2 Silver 7’s game.
For selling the claimed ticket, Corner Pantry #115 in Calhoun received a commission of $200.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.8 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
