COLUMBIA, SC (April 30, 2013) – An Abbeville man won $150,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The winner says he’s done buying tickets, deciding to quit while he’s on top.

He paid $5 for the $150 Grand scratch-off at the Quick Pantry 20 on S. Main St. in Abbeville.

He’s keeping his identity a mystery, with no extravagant spending planned to give him away.

As of this release, four top prizes of $150,000 remain in the $150 Grand game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Pantry 20 in Abbeville received a commission of $1,500.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
