COLUMBIA, SC (August 11, 2010) – A happy player from Spartanburg is celebrating his good fortune after the Cash Frenzy instant ticket he bought revealed a $100,000 prize.
The 59-year-old man does not want to publicize his name, but he purchased his winning ticket at Roebuck One Stop in Spartanburg.
The store is benefitting from the win as well. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. Roebuck One Stop received a $1,000 retailer commission.
Cash Frenzy is a $5 ticket with more than $6.3 million in prizes remaining, including three top prizes of $100,000.
Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
