Media Advisory - $1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Lake Wylie!

7/8/2009 8:42:26 AM

WHO: Who is holding a Powerball® ticket worth $1 million? Someone bought the lucky ticket at Xpress Mart 67, 4850 Charlotte Highway, in Lake Wylie.

WHAT: The ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn in the Saturday, July 4 drawing, but missed the red Powerball® number. The winning white ball numbers were 4, 9, 22, 41 and 44. The red Powerball® was 14 and the PowerPlay® multiplier selected was 3. The ticket holder had wisely purchased the PowerPlay® option for an additional one dollar which turns any match five white balls win into a prize of $1 million!

The winning ticket can be claimed at a South Carolina Education Lottery Claims Center, located in Columbia, Greenville and Mt. Pleasant.

The next Powerball® drawing will be held Wednesday night at 10:59. The estimated jackpot is $30 million.

Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
