COLUMBIA, SC (July 20, 2023) – The first person a Midlands man told he won the Lottery was his Mom.
“I had to show her the ticket,” he said. “She didn’t believe it.”
He didn’t believe it either when he scratched off a $30,000 win on a $2 ticket in the parking lot of the Cheap Way #2 on N. Main St. in Sumter. The winner says he’d just left his mom’s house when he decided to swing by the store. He wasn’t planning on going back to his Mom’s, but had to tell her the good news.
“I’m tired of renting,” he said. “I’m going to buy something.”
The Midlands player left two top prizes of $30,000 in the Super 7-11-21 game at odds of 1 in 420,000.
Cheap Way #2 in Sumter received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
