COLUMBIA, SC (July 1, 2020) – It was a Boiling Springs lottery player’s lucky day when the store was sold out of her favorite ticket. She picked out another ticket, scratched it and won $250,000.
“I started sobbing,” she said.
The S & J Mart on the Asheville Hwy. in Boiling Springs sold her the 50X ticket.
The winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that she was stunned by the result.
“I sat staring at the ticket,” she said.
She flipped the ticket over and read the odds of winning—1 in 810,000.
“I’m that one,” she said.
Four top prizes remain in the ($10) 50X game.
S & J Mart in Boiling Springs received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
