“It’s exhausting,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials describing the win. “I cried.”
She checked her ticket three times. Every time it matched the first five numbers drawn on Tuesday, June 9 (1, 5, 9, 10, 23 and Megaball®: 22) to win $1 million. Because she spent the extra $1 for Megaplier®, the prize was doubled to $2 million.
It’s been days since she’s gotten a good night’s sleep but plans to go house hunting once she does.
“This is a big blessing for my family,” she said.
The Aiken Mega Millions® winner overcame odds of 1 in 12,607,306 to win $2 million.
Huntsman Markets Shell in Aiken received a commission of $20,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
