COLUMBIA, SC (July 24, 2019) – When a North Carolina man sat down for dinner, he didn’t know $1 million was joining him at the table.
Weeks ago he says he brought home a Powerball® ticket from South Carolina and left the ticket lying on his dining room table.
“I have a bad habit of waiting to check my lottery tickets,” he told lottery officials. When he finally did, the results left him stunned and his wife speechless.
The first five numbers printed on his Powerball® ticket purchased from the Nanba LLC on Hwy. 38 in Bennettsville matched those drawn Saturday, June 8, to win him $1 million (9, 13, 42, 48, 60, and Powerball® 18).
The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 11,688,054.
For selling the claimed ticket, Nanba LLC in Bennettsville received a commission of $10,000.
