COLUMBIA, SC (October 9, 2017) – A Greenville bartender won $125,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.

“I felt lucky,” she said when she bought the scratch-off at the Buncombe Mini Stop on Old Buncombe Rd. in Greenville.

And her intuition was spot on.

She scratched off a $125,000 win sitting in her car outside the convenience store.

“I was trying not to have a heart attack,” she admitted.

She called her parents first to tell them the good news and then called a friend to drive her to Columbia to cash in the winning $125,000 Large ticket.

On her way she thought about what she would like to do with the prize money and made a decision.

“I’m building a house,” she said.

Now that the prize is paid, Buncombe Mini Stop in Greenville receives a $1,250 commission.

Three top prizes of $125,000 remain in the ($5) $125,000 Large game, at odds of 1 in 600,000.
