COLUMBIA, SC (August 16, 2016) – Lottery wins are heating up the Grand Strand.

So far this month, three Myrtle Beach retailers have sold top prize winning tickets totaling $475,000.

A tourist was one of the lucky winners.

She took home a $250,000 souvenir to Rock Hill.

“At first you don’t believe it,” the winner said. She was on her way home from the beach when she stopped at the Circle K on S. Kings Hwy. and bought the winning Gold Rush scratch-off.

“It still feels too good to be true,” she said.

Three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Gold Rush game at odds of 1 in 660,000.

Five miles north at the Save Mart LLC on N. Kings Hwy., a Myrtle Beach resident experienced similar feelings when he took a chance and won $125,000. He cashed in his winning ticket yesterday in Columbia.

He says the prize money from the Cash Funds scratch-off will go towards a new home.

He claimed the first top prize of $125,000 in the $5 Cash Funds game. Three top prizes remain at odds of 1 in 480,000.

A six-minute drive west on Hwy. 15, another Myrtle Beach man hit the jackpot.

The winner scratched off a $100,000 prize sitting in his car outside the Ridge Mart on Hwy. 15.

“I’m taking a week off from work,” he said.

As of this release, two top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Double Jackpot game at odds of 1 in 480,000.

For selling the claimed winning tickets, each retailer received a 1 percent commission.
