Second Week in a Row Blythewood Store Sells Top Prize Winning Ticket

COLUMBIA, SC (March 9, 2016) – Palmetto Cash 5 is a hot ticket at the Sharpe Shoppe #4 in Blythewood. A week and a half after selling three top prize tickets worth $200,000 each, the retailer on Wilson Blvd. has now sold its fourth, this one worth $300,000. That brings the total wins to $900,000.

Last night’s winning Palmetto Cash 5 ticket matched all five numbers drawn to win the $100,000 top prize. Because the ticket holder “Powered-Up” for an additional $1, the $100,000 top prize was multiplied to $300,000 when a three was drawn.

More than 4,200 Palmetto Cash 5 players won prizes from $1 up to $300,000 in Tuesday’s drawing. More than 2,500 players spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have their winnings multiplied by three when claimed.

The odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,606,214.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
