COLUMBIA, SC (July 20, 2015) – On the way to work an Olanta man played the Lottery and won $250,000.

The winner stopped to fill up his car at the Kalvin Kooner on the Pamplico Hwy. in Florence where he bought a $10 Big Cash ticket. He didn’t think he won until the last number he scratched revealed a quarter-of-a-million-dollar prize.

And he went on to work, where he couldn’t help but daydream ways to spend his winnings.

A vacation to the tropics and season tickets to see the Gamecocks play crossed his mind. But he thought too about investing, buying property and starting a college fund for his child.

“I never thought this would happen to me,” he said. “I’m so happy.”

Four top prizes of $250,000 remain in the Big Cash game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Kalvin Kooner in Florence received a commission of $2,500.
