COLUMBIA, SC (December 3, 2015) – In this season of giving, a Williston daughter is using her $100,000 lottery winnings to help her mom.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” the winner said.
The daughter told lottery officials that her mom was the first person she called to tell when she won the top prize on a Carolina Riches scratch-off. And Mom asked to see the ticket.
“I like to have fainted,” said the mother, who came with her daughter to cash in the ticket.
But Mom doesn’t know her daughter’s plans for the prize, not yet.
“I’m going to surprise her a little bit along,” the daughter said. “I’m lucky to have her.”
One top prize of $100,000 remains in the $5 Carolina Riches game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Sunny Party Shop in Williston received a commission of $1,000.
