Best Friends of 50 Years Share $250,000 Lottery Win

COLUMBIA, SC (April 22, 2016) – Suzie Mans and Debbie Duncan have been best friends for 50 years.

They grew up together, even worked together, and this morning the retirees drove from their home in Little River to cash in a $250,000 winning lottery ticket they’re splitting fifty-fifty.

“It’s what best friend’s do,” said Mans of their decision to share the prize money.

Both bought Lady Luck scratch-offs at the Lowes Foods #223 on Pavilion Dr. in Little River yesterday. It was Duncan who scratched off the quarter-of-a-million dollar win.

“I’ve got a winner, and I think you’ll be happy with this,” Duncan told Mans, sitting in the grocery store’s parking lot.

Duncan says her best friend’s mouth dropped open when she saw what they won.

“We did it!” Mans screamed.

The two predict the win will bring them even closer, if that’s possible.

“We’re closer than twin sisters already,” said Mans.

They are celebrating the win with a trip, even inviting their husbands along.

“We’re going to Disneyland,” they said.

As of this release, one top prize of $250,000 remains in the $10 Lady Luck game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Lowes Foods #223 in Little River received a commission of $2,500.

This is the second winning Lady Luck ticket worth $250,000 sold in Little River. Earlier this month, the Speedway #4585 on Hwy. 9 E. sold a $250,000 winning ticket to a local couple.
