COLUMBIA, SC (August 1, 2016) – A Florence grandmother has won $125,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The winner told lottery officials that once a month she’ll stop at several area retailers and buy tickets. One of her stops last week was the Sav Way 28 on Second Loop Rd. in Florence. There she bought a $125,000 Big Money scratch-off and won the game’s top prize.
She says she’s tipping her grandson for cutting her grass this summer and taking a family vacation.
“I feel like I’ve been blessed,” she said.
Sav Way 28 at 1327 Second Loop Rd. in Florence sold the winning ticket. Now that the prize is paid, the store receives a $1,250 commission.
Three top prizes of $125,000 remain in the ($5) $125,000 Big Money game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
