Local Man Claims Two $500,000 Winning Tickets Sold in Georgetown

COLUMBIA, SC (June 9, 2015) – A local man has come forward to claim not one, but two winning tickets each worth $500,000 sold at a Georgetown retailer this weekend.

The winner has asked for privacy, but confirmed his seemingly unusual habit of buying two identical tickets for the same drawing. His method paid off Saturday with a Palmetto Cash 5 win totaling $1 million.

The Beverage Depot at 254 Saint Delight Rd. in Georgetown is the winning destination, and now that both prizes are claimed will receive a $10,000 commission.

The winning numbers were 9, 11, 19, 32, and 34. Spending the extra $1 for Power-Up multiplied the $100,000 win to $500,000 when a “5” was drawn.

The odds of winning $500,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 8,031,072. The odds of winning it twice in the same night are really lucky.
