COLUMBIA, SC (February 4, 2016) – A Greenville dad is splitting his $250,000 lottery win with his children.
“I want to help my kids,” he explained.
The family man won the prize nearly a week ago off a ticket he purchased for $10 at the Stop N Go on E. North St. in Greenville, but the winner says he had a good reason for waiting to cash in the Maximum Money ticket.
“I was in shock,” he said. “I had to let it sink in.”
He says he spent plenty of time staring at the winning ticket and deciding what he would like to do with the cash.
“I have no big plans for myself,” he said.
Two top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Maximum Money game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Stop N Go in Greenville received a commission of $2,500.
