COLUMBIA, SC (February 1, 2016) – A Gaffney couple almost won Wednesday night’s Powerball® jackpot.
They matched four of the five numbers drawn (3, 12, 40, 52, 67 and Powerball® 21).
“We’ve never won anything in our life,” said the wife.
But that’s not true anymore.
They missed the jackpot, but won $100,000.
“I’m not greedy,” said the husband, who purchased the ticket while his wife was pumping gas at the Kangaroo #3438 on the Shelby Hwy. in Gaffney.
“The jackpot would have been nice,” said the wife.
The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129. The odds of a 2X multiplier being selected are 1 in 1.79.
For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo #3438 in Gaffney received a commission of $1,000.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball® drawing is $112 million.
