Two $500,000 Palmetto Cash 5 Tickets Sold in Georgetown this Weekend

COLUMBIA, SC (June 8, 2015) – In a Lottery first, a Georgetown retailer sold two tickets worth $500,000 for Saturday’s Palmetto Cash 5 drawing. Both tickets were sold at the Beverage Depot at 254 Saint Delight Rd. in Georgetown.

The Palmetto Cash 5 tickets matched all five numbers drawn to win the $100,000 top prize. Because the ticket holders “Powered-Up” for an additional $1, the $100,000 top prize was multiplied to $500,000 when a five was drawn.

More than 3,700 Palmetto Cash 5 players won prizes from $1 up to $500,000 in Saturday’s drawing. More than 2,300 players spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have their winnings multiplied by five when claimed.

The odds of winning $500,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 8,031,072.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
