COLUMBIA, SC (April 6, 2016) – A Ladson couple arrived at the Lottery’s claims center with a Ziploc bag containing a $100,000 winning ticket.
“I cried,” said the wife when she checked her Palmetto Cash 5 ticket for the March 23 drawing and all five numbers matched (3, 5, 6, 30, and 38).
“She cried all day,” said the husband, who came home from work after she called to say they’d won.
The Ziploc bag was his idea.
He sealed the ticket up and put it away until they had a plan for the prize money. Yesterday, he opened the Ziploc and cashed in their ticket to retirement.
The odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942.
For selling the claimed ticket, Food Lion #1072 in Goose Creek received a commission of $1,000.
