COLUMBIA, SC (December 10, 2015) – Since telling his wife they won the Lottery, a Gaffney man says she’s gone a little crazy with the Christmas decorating.

“I want to invest some of it,” he said of the $100,000 he won off a $5 Ruby Red scratch-off.

He bought the ticket on his way home from work at the Piedmont Petro Corner Mart on the Chesnee Hwy. in Spartanburg. He says he kept the winning ticket in his sock drawer for about a week waiting for a day off from work to travel to Columbia to cash it in.

“Waiting was hard,” he admitted. “But this sure made Christmas easier.”

Two top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Ruby Red game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Piedmont Petro Corner Mart in Spartanburg received a commission of $1,000.
