COLUMBIA, SC (November 20, 2015) – The South Carolina Education Lottery is excited to announce we’ve sold our first $1,000 a day for LIFE winning ticket! The top prize winning Lucky for Life ticket was sold in Newberry.

“This is the first top prize won in the Lucky for Life game here in South Carolina,” said Paula Harper Bethea, Executive Director of the South Carolina Education Lottery. “We’ve been waiting patiently for almost a year for this moment and are thrilled for the winner, the retailer that sold the ticket and for the state of South Carolina.”

“The winner needs to sign the back of the winning ticket, keep the ticket in a safe and secure place, and talk to a trusted adviser about this prize,” Bethea urged.

The winning ticket matches the Lucky for Life numbers for last night’s draw 7, 14, 21, 32, and 33. The Lucky Ball was 14.

The Newberry winning ticket beat the odds of winning $1,000 a day for life: 1 in 30,821,472.

The Newberry retail location will be released soon.

Lucky for Life is a multi-state game offered in 17 states. Tickets cost $2 with drawings on Mondays and Thursdays. South Carolina began selling Lucky for Life tickets in January. In addition to the $1,000 a day for life prize, players can also win $25,000 a year for life, as a Summerville couple did in September.
