Irmo Millionaire a Mystery

3/18/2014 8:52:19 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 18, 2014) – South Carolina’s newest millionaire is keeping a low profile.

The Irmo man won $1 MILLION on the Millionaire Madness scratch-off ticket and declined to release his name. His identity remains a mystery even to the clerks at Revis Grocery at 1005 N. Congress St. in York, who were surprised to learn they had sold the winning ticket.

Lottery officials can say the millionaire was lucky enough to overcome odds of 1 in 1.4 million.

A little over a week ago, a Manning woman claimed the first $1 million prize on the Millionaire Madness ticket. The Irmo winner leaves one, $1 million top prize remaining in the Millionaire Madness game that went on sale February 25.

Revis Grocery received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Non-winning Millionaire Madness tickets can be entered in a second-chance drawing by mail or online at sceducationlottery.com for a chance to win $1 million.
