COLUMBIA, SC (March 22, 2016) – A North Carolina woman came into some green St. Patrick’s Day weekend, winning $250,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery.
“Pinch me!” she told her family showing off the winning Lady Luck scratch-off.
The winner says she was feeling lucky when she stopped at the Jakob Food Mart on N. Main St. in Clover and bought the $10 ticket, admitting the most she usually spends is $1.
The chance paid off, and she’s paying off her house.
And her family members that affectionately call her a “Lucky Leprechaun” want to start a new tradition.
“Every St. Patrick’s Day we are going to celebrate this win,” she said.
As of this release, four top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Lady Luck game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Jakob Food Mart in Clover received a commission of $2,500.
