COLUMBIA, SC (October 21, 2015) – A Walmart worker in Summerville won $200,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery this week.
“I’ve been told I’m lucky,” the winner bragged.
“Lucky in love,” corrected his wife.
She says her husband sits for hours studying Palmetto Cash 5 results deciding which five numbers to play. His homework paid off on Sunday when 8, 16, 31, 36, and 38 were drawn.
He canceled plans to go hunting to drive to Columbia to cash in his winning ticket.
Now he’s planning to be debt free.
“It’s a new start,” he said. “Unbelievable.”
Since he Powered-Up for an extra $1, his $100,000 win doubled to $200,000 with the selection of a “2” multiplier.
Odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884.
For selling the claimed ticket, Hot Spot #1601 in Summerville received a commission of $2,000.
