COLUMBIA, SC (April 6, 2015) – Since retiring, Walter “Mickey” Gibson has been hanging out at Jack’s Convenience Store in Lancaster.
He likes the coffee. He likes chatting with the customers. And for fun, he likes to buy and scratch lottery tickets.
It was there, at the store on the Pageland Hwy., where he spent $5 on a $5 Tons of Funds ticket and won $100,000.
Gibson is taking the win in stride and doesn’t mind the curiosity surrounding his plans for the prize.
“I don’t have any plans yet,” Gibson answers.
He’s just sticking to his routine.
“I was at the store this morning,” he said.
One top prize of $100,000 remains in the Tons of Funds game. Odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 432,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Jack’s Convenience Store in Lancaster received a commission of $1,000.
