Chapin Lottery Player Wins $1 Million and Retires

COLUMBIA, SC (September 2, 2015) – A Chapin man won the Lottery and retired the next day.

“I always said if I won big, I’d quit my job,” he shared.

And true to his word, he called his boss and resigned after winning $1 million.

He won on a Hot Millions/Cool Millions scratch-off he bought for $10 at the Get N Go on Wessinger Rd. in Chapin. He says he scratched the ticket at home during a television commercial, then remained seated for a half an hour waiting for his heart rate to return to normal.

“Please, don’t let me have a heart attack,” he kept repeating to himself clutching the ticket.

The millionaire was in good spirts and good health this week when he cashed in the first $1 million top prize won in the Hot Millions/Cool Millions game. Two top prizes of $1 million remain to be won in the game at odds of 1 in 1.6 million.

Players can also enter non-winning Hot Millions/Cool Millions tickets by mail or online at sclottery.com for another chance to win $1 million in a second-chance drawing.

For selling the claimed ticket, Get N Go in Chapin received a commission of $10,000.
