COLUMBIA, SC (March 13, 2015) – A Dorchester County man left work this week with a $1 million winning ticket in his pocket.
He scratched the winning Million Dollar Series ticket on his work break to own the game’s first $1 million top prize—two more $1 million prizes still remain to be won.
“I did get a little teary eyed,” he admitted when it happened, but says he went right back to work.
His co-workers didn’t suspect a thing and neither did his wife when he got home.
“She was speechless,” he said, when he told her the news.
The couple is keeping the win quiet, paying off their mortgage and starting college funds for their children.
The odds of winning $1 million in the Million Dollar Series game are 1 in 1,600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, EZ Stop 3 in Summerville received a commission of $10,000.
