The guys found out Friday evening they won the cash.
“I’ve been hyper all weekend,” confessed the keeper of the ticket.
His friend was responsible for making sure he didn’t lose the Palmetto Cash 5 ticket they purchased at the Shiv Mart 5 on Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Camden.
The five April 19 numbers printed on their ticket – 1, 3, 20, 31, and 32 – were a perfect match. Spending the extra buck to Power-Up tripled their $100,000 prize to $300,000.
“I’m giving my wife a hug, and a kiss on the check,” admitted one of the guys. “Then I’m moving out of the way.”
As for the other fellow, he’s still figuring out his approach.
Odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,606,214.
For selling the claimed ticket, Shiv Mart 5 received a commission of $3,000.
To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3 billion transferred to support education.
