COLUMBIA, SC (November 18, 2014) – No one was more surprised by Robert Watts’ lottery win than his brother.
“My brother said he was going to win the ATV,” Watts said.
But Watts won it for himself.
His brother was the first to buy a Honda scratch-off ticket when the two were eating breakfast. Following his lead, Watts, who rarely buys tickets, bought one too. Both mailed their losing tickets in to enter the second-chance drawing for the Honda ATV. But Watts got the call his ticket was selected from the more than 200,000 entries received to win the prize.
“I’ve let my brother ride it,” Watts said.
The family has already logged over 20 hours on riding trails near their Mountville home.
“I’ll enjoy this wonderful surprise for a long time, and so will my family,” Watts shared.
Watts was one of 15 South Carolina Education Lottery winners selected to win a Honda ATV in the promotion. The ATVs were built at the Honda plant in Timmonsville, SC.
