COLUMBIA, SC (February 20, 2012) – Rocky Armentrout walked into the Tiger Mart #3 at 1626 Church St. in Conway with 17 bucks to burn.

He bought scratch-offs and won a few dollars. He kept exchanging his winnings for tickets to see how long his winning streak would hold. We’ll never know, the Conway resident stopped when he won $100,000.

“It was a weird feeling,” he said holding the $5 Cold Hard Cash winning ticket.

He told lottery officials he grabbed Gunner, the clerk that sold him the tickets, and lifted him off the ground. Then he phoned his wife screaming he won the lottery.

“I feel like everything I’ve touched today has turned to gold,” he said.

As of this release, one top prize of $100,000 remains in the $5 Cold Hard Cash game.

The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 600,000.

Tiger Mart #3 in Conway received a commission of $1,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.6 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
