COLUMBIA, SC (October 3, 2011) – A Gaffney mom took a break from folding clothes to scratch a lottery ticket her husband gave her. His only instructions to her before heading off to work, “Win me something.”
She did. Once she finished screaming, she drove to her husband’s work to tell him they won $200,000.
His response, “Let’s go.”
The two claimed the Blue Sapphire Bucks prize Friday afternoon.
The young couple plans to buy a house with their winnings.
As of this release, five top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Blue Sapphire Bucks game.
The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 411,428.57.
Her husband purchased the ticket from Gaffney Store in Gaffney. The retailer received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 932,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
